Finneytown Local School District collaborates with MindPeace, a local organization that coordinates mental health services for educational agencies. Their mission is to “ensure that there is a seamless system of mental health care for children and adolescents that meets specific characteristics of quality, provides a continuum of care, has system connections, and is affordable.” MindPeace works in conjunction with other community partners to provide school-based mental health services from a wide selection of community agencies. FLSD is one of 40 educational agencies that uses MindPeace and their services.
Through this collaboration, Finneytown formed a new partnership with Catalyst Counseling LLC beginning in the 2018-2019 school year. This ongoing partnership focuses on increasing access to mental health services for students focusing on strengths. We have a team of mental health professionals working in all our buildings.
Counseling:
Catalyst’s services are primarily provided in each of the school buildings. Families have the ability to utilize their private insurance, Medicaid, or private pay to access services. The partnership with Catalyst is self-sustaining and does not require any fiscal investment by the district.
Families interested in services for their student should contact their child’s school counselor.
