Wildcat Workzone – Community Update – June 2025

Summer is here! While students and staff head into a well-earned break, our buildings will be busier than ever.

We’re making big moves this summer as part of our ongoing work to build the new 7–12 Finneytown school and improve facilities across the district. These changes will support our students for years to come, and we’re grateful for your continued support and flexibility during this exciting time.

Here’s what to expect:

Secondary Campus Access

The Secondary Campus will be closed this summer to most staff and students due to demolition, construction, and utility work. Only athletics and band activities will continue on-site. The campus is scheduled to reopen in early August.

  • ***Please be aware that the main Fontainebleau entrance to campus will be a construction-only entrance for the next 18 months.
  • ***Additionally, the driveway to the side and behind the main gym will be closed meaning there is is no cut through.
  • Please use the Mockingbird Entrance or Cherry Blossom Entrance as needed to access Finneytown Secondary Campus.
  • The main entrance for Secondary will move to the 300 Lobby until we open the new building.

  • The Cherry Blossom lots will be the main parking area for students, staff and events.

  • Please plan on using the Cherry Blossom entrance for most of your needs.

  • Car rider drop off will be in the 300 parking lot (“Old Tennis Courts”) with student, staff, and event parking being in the Cherry Blossom lots.

  • Bus riders will be dropped off and picked up in the 100 parking lot (behind the PAC).

  • X Period drop-off will still use the 100 parking lot.

See below for maps of the impacted areas.

Additional Summer Projects

  • A new track will be installed at the stadium, with completion expected by early August.

  • The main gym will receive a fresh coat of paint and the floor will be refinished. Additionally, new bleachers will be installed this fall, all thanks to our Finneytown Alumni Network.

  • The elementary gym floor will be repaired to address a bubbling issue. This work is covered under warranty.

Looking Ahead

As construction progresses, the Secondary Campus will continue to evolve.

In the spring of 2027, the MP gym, the 200 building, and the 300 building will be demolished. Following the completion of this work, we anticipate beginning the construction of new baseball and softball fields.
