If you know of a child with a suspected handicap, please contact:

Laurie Banks, Director of Student Services, 513.728.3700, lbanks@finneytown.org

The Finneytown Local School District seeks to locate, identify, and evaluate all children with handicaps from infants to age 21 based upon IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) eligibility.  This includes children attending private or parochial schools whose parents reside within our Finneytown Local School District enrollment area.

Conditions such as multi-handicapped, impairments related to hearing, vision, orthopedically and/or other health conditions, severe behavior/emotional issues, specific learning disabilities, autism, speech and language issues would be included.

Additionally, it is the intent of the district to ensure that students who are handicapped within the definition of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 are evaluated, identified, and served.  Section 504 disabilities are mental or physical impairments of a history of such impairments that “substantially limit one or more major life activities.”
