Here are some tips to help you with school technology.

How to access Wi-Fi from your Chromebook or Laptop

To connect to the Internet, use a compatible Wi-Fi network.

Step 1: At the bottom right, by the time, click the wifi connection icon

Step 2: Select not connected

Note: If you see your Wi-Fi network name and a signal strength, your Chromebook is already connected to Wi-Fi.

Step 3: Turn on Wi-Fi.

Step 4: Your Chromebook will automatically look for available networks and show them to you in a list.

Step 5: Select the name of the network you want to connect to and click it. If needed you will now enter the password for that network.

Step 6: After verifying the password the icon will change and you will be connected.

Keyboard features

To help you find things quickly, your Chromebook keyboard has special shortcut keys, including a dedicated search key. The shortcut keys make it easy to get around online and control your Chromebook, and the search key lets you search your apps and the web at the same time.

Shortcut keys

Some special keys sit along the top of Chromebook keyboards. If you’re using a Windows keyboard with your Chromebook, the F keys at the top of the keyboard will work just like the keys below.

If you’re using a regular keyboard, the Windows key in between Ctrl and Alt will work as the search key. Tip: To turn Caps lock on temporarily, press Alt + the search key.

There is currently no functionality assigned to the F11 and F12 keys. Keys may vary slightly depending on your Chrome device model.

In addition to the top row of keys, here are a few handy keyboard combinations. To see a map of all shortcuts on your screen, press Ctrl+Alt+?.
