Day 29 – Gratitude

“If you count all your assets, you always show a profit.” Robert Quillen Hi Terri, Whew! After a month of crazy travel to speak at ten differences conferences in September, I’m enjoying a week at home before it all starts up again. It’s nice to sleep in my own bed – and my cat, Tinkerbell, is quite happy that I’m home. Simba, our other cat, seems to be okay either way. Whether I’m speaking about business topics like employee engagement/retention/recognition or covering …

Day 28 – Gratitude

“Youth is the gift of nature, but age is a work of art.” Stanislaw Jerzy Lec Hi Terri, Tomorrow is a big day in my family. It’s the day that the last of my siblings turns 50. It’s true that you can’t pick your family members. But if I had to …

Day 21 – Gratitude

“He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has.” – Epictetus Hi Terri, It’s a part of human nature, whatever we have, we always seem to want just a little more. We compare our “stuff” – house, car, education – even our children, or lack thereof – to what others have. What if, just for today, you focused, I mean really focused on all of the good …

Day 20 – Gratitude

It’s not the situation, but whether we react negatively  or respond positively to the situation that is important.” Zig ZiglarHi Terri, It seems that no matter how good something is, there’s always an unhappy camper in the crowd. Unfortuantely, our human nature tends to focus on that one negative person instead of the other ninety-nine percent positive responses. Ugh! I’ve gotten into the habit of not reading my program evaluations on the day of the presentation. I prefer to enjoy my …
