The district recently received notice from the Ohio Department of Education’s Chief Legal Counsel that a proposed settlement has been reached in the long-running Doe v. Ohio Department of Education litigation. To be clear, no individual school district is a defendant in this case. Defendants include the State of Ohio, the Governor, the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, and the Ohio Department of Education. Wildcat Serve Delivers Food and Joy to Neighbors

During the season of thankful and grateful, the Finneytown community has many reasons to be grateful. On Tuesday, November 27, WildcatSERVE distributed Thanksgiving food baskets to 28 families in the Finneytown Local School District. These baskets brought much relief and joy to the recipients. Baskets included many non-perishables such as cereal, mac and cheese, ravioli containers, pasta and sauce, and much more. Brent Elementary Celebrates Grandparents with Special Day

Brent Elementary was abuzz when kindergarteners and first graders welcomed grandparents and special people to their school and classrooms on November 26th. Over 175 grandparents and special people attended the special day. A delicious cornucopia of doughnuts along with juice and coffee, for the adults delighted the families for breakfast. Finneytown Local School District is home to unique and strong musical talent, and many are gaining exposure to larger stages. Four Finneytown High School Art Students Recognized at University of Mt. St. Joseph

The University of Mount St. Joseph held the 19th Biennial Exhibition and Awards Gala for “Selections 2019”. The exhibition spotlighted art created by talented area high school students as selected by their art teachers. Of those recognized were 33 schools, 50 teachers and 90 students. Finneytown Secondary Campus had four students: Senior Jared Barnes [not pictured], Juniors Jillian Becksfort, Maria Seith and Brennan Jones. The artwork included colored pencil drawing, digital photography, and ceramics pieces.

FHS National Honor Society Inducts 23 New Students

Finneytown High School inducted 23 new students into National Honor Society last week. The newly inducted students represent the four pillars of scholarship with a cumulative GPA of 3.5, service with numerous community efforts, leadership through school, church, and community, and character they display every day.
