Finneytown Students Recognized at State for PTA Reflections

Two Finneytown Secondary Campus students won state-wide awards for their artistic talents. The National PTA Reflections program recognizes students’ artistic talents by awarding students at several different levels, school, regional, state and national. Aubrey Weaver and Ava Weaver, sisters, earned state titles for their respective pieces. Aubrey, a junior, garnered the Award of Merit for her Music Composition. Finneytown High School Junior Earns Place at State Level for Governor’s Art Award

Finneytown High School Junior Jillian Becksfort placed at the state level for her ceramic rattle, “Cow Skull” in the The Ohio Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition competition. Sadly, due to all of the closures and learning remotely, the displays of all the art in the capital had to be cancelled. Finneytown High School Athletics Receives Grant for Football Equipment

Finneytown High School Athletics received a $1000 grant for football equipment for the 2020-2021 school year. The Athletic Department will be able to order much needed  equipment from Riddell, USA Football to keep football players safe next season. The USA Football Grant Program enables youth, middle school, and high school programs to upgrade equipment, improve playing fields, and acquire life-saving equipment. Applications for equipment, field and product grants are available each year.  #GrantTheGame.

Day of Giving Thank you

We want to thank all those inside and outside our Finneytown community who donated to WildcatSERVE on Thursday, April 23 for the WLWT Day of Giving. Very generous people dropped off hundreds of items that valued over about $500 including baby items, toilet paper, hygiene products, paper towels, dish soap, snacks, and other essential food items like canned goods and meal kits. Furthermore, community members donated $1,355 in gift cards and $325 in cash that will be used to assist …
