Finneytown Students Recognized in Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards 2019

Nineteen Finneytown High School students were recognized at the Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards recently, which is produced by the Art Academy of Cincinnati. The annual Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the nation’s most prestigious recognition initiative for creative students in grades 7-12 and the largest source of scholarships for young artists and writers in the nation. 2018-19 Finneytown PTA Reflections Winners “Heroes Around Me…”

For 50 years, the National PTA’s Reflections program has helped students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life. Artificial Turf: Great Idea But Not Cost Effective

Recently Finneytown Local Schools was offered an opportunity to receive and install gently used artificial turf from another school for the stadium field. Currently, Finneytown uses a grass field for outside athletics. This artificial turf is much better for the athletes in terms of less injuries and easier mobility on the field. Finneytown Cheerleader Representing Her School and Country in London’s New Year’s Day Parade Over the summer our Finneytown Cheerleaders attended a camp with the UCA Cheerleading organization. Twelve Finneytown cheerleaders, along with several other cheerleaders from the other attending schools tried out for their All American team. Finneytown Student Wins Scholarship through ArtsConnect Alicia Ramirez of Finneytown Local School District was awarded The ArtsConnect STAR Scholarship. Finneytown Marching Band Earns High Awards This Season

To say that Finneytown Marching Band had an outstanding season seems to be an understatement given the hardware they’ve brought home in the past several weeks. They are coming off this past weekend of winning first place in the Mid-States Preliminary Competition and taking fourth place in the Mid-States Finals. This is an outstanding accomplishment since this is the first time in school history that Finneytown has even qualified for Mid-States Finals competition.
