Finneytown Marching Band Wins Big in First Competition of the Season

The Finneytown High School Marching Band, The Marching Wildcats, won class AAAA at the Taylor Invitational Competition over the weekend. They earned first place in each of the AAAA class categories such as Best Percussion, Color Guard, Music, Visual and General Effect.  As a result, they obtained the title “Reserve Grand Champion” overall, which is an awesome accomplishment for such a small school.  The students’ hard work allowed them to earn the highest titles among larger bands, such as Oak …

Finneytown 8th Grader Wins National PTA Award

Finneytown Local School District student, Ava Weaver, was recognized at the National PTA Convention, for an Award of Merit in Photography. Ava submitted photographs for the regional Hamilton County Council PTA Reflections Competition last year. She advanced through the contests achieving several awards along the way.  “We are proud that the PTA recognized the talent Ava portrays in her work,” said Terri Noe, Superintendent of Finneytown LSD.
