Brent Elementary School Recognizes Local Heroes as Superheroes

Superheroes come in all forms! Local heroes such as Springfield Township Officers, a Springfield Township Firefighter, a nurse, a Hamilton County Park Ranger, and a Hamilton County Dispatcher joined families at Brent Elementary as they celebrated a Superheroes- themed Brent Reading Night.  Students and their families read books by flashlight, played word/picture bingo, made superhero masks, listened to the reading of Even Superheroes Make Mistakes, and honored the local heroes with a special song performed by the students. Finneytown Local Schools Homecoming Parade

Finneytown Local School District will kick off Homecoming 2019 activities with the parade on Thursday, September 26 beginning at 6pm. It leaves from the south side of Northminster Church, makes a left onto Woodview Dr, a right onto Reynard Ave, right onto Winton Rd, left onto Fontainebleau Terrace, and a right into the school parking lot. The Ohio Facility Construction Commission (OFCC) and outside agencies assessed the current buildings and found all to be in need of repairs so extensive, it is cheaper and more responsible to build new facilities. In order for this determination to be given, the cost of renovation must be at least 2/3 of the cost to build. At that point it is considered more fiscally responsible to build new facilities. Finneytown Marching Band Wins Big in First Competition of the Season

The Finneytown High School Marching Band, The Marching Wildcats, won class AAAA at the Taylor Invitational Competition over the weekend. They earned first place in each of the AAAA class categories such as Best Percussion, Color Guard, Music, Visual and General Effect.  As a result, they obtained the title “Reserve Grand Champion” overall, which is an awesome accomplishment for such a small school.  The students’ hard work allowed them to earn the highest titles among larger bands, such as Oak …
