The Ohio State Board of Education commended Brent Elementary School for earning an Overall “A” Award and provided a banner to be displayed in the school. The award was earned due to “high academic performance and building bright futures for students of every background and ability level.” The criteria for the award is based on Ohio’s strategic plan, Each Child, Our Future, to “ensure each student is challenged, prepared, and empowered for his or her future by way of an excellent prekindergarten through grade 12 education.” The Ohio State Board of Education President Tess Elshoff applauded Brent staff on embracing the challenge of preparing students for a future that is new and undeveloped as well as the high-quality experiences that students receive at Brent. The leadership and dedication of the Brent staff is remarkable and noteworthy even from those outside the district.
Superintendent Terri Noe stated, “Brent is the introduction to our district for most of our students. Kudos to the entire staff for not only making Brent a warm and inviting place to be but for earning this recognition from the State Board of Education! It is through the dedication and hard work of every person at Brent that this is possible.Thank you!”
