Nineteen Finneytown High School students were recognized at the Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards recently, which is produced by the Art Academy of Cincinnati. The annual Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the nation’s most prestigious recognition initiative for creative students in grades 7-12 and the largest source of scholarships for young artists and writers in the nation. Gold Key, Silver Key, and Honorable Mention recognition and AAC scholarships will be awarded to students. Regional Gold Key recipients may then go on to compete for national medals in an exhibit that culminates with the National Awards Ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York, NY.

Silver Award: Abby Jeffries, Ally Sedgwick, Brennan Jones, Caitlin Ramsey, Cooper Burton, and Robert Burlew.
Gold Award: Ollie Orue, Olivia Angert, and Olivia Perry.
Finneytown Local Schools is proud of these student artists and the exceptional talent they show through their art. Carolyn Althoff, Secondary Art Teacher, explains,“‘Creativity takes courage’ is a quote by artist Henri Matisse. Our students take risks, try new things and experience the daily frustration of creative problem solving. We are very proud and honored to work with this courageous young adults.”
